Lurching left at speed - possible castor problem?

Hello again. Just to close this one off, eventually diagnosed the problem as... knackered ball joint. Huzzah! O/s ball joint was knackered, with the joint bit lifting in and out of the socket in which it sits*. £80 ish later, ball joint saved, problem solved. Thanks for the help chaps...

    Uprated / modified exhaust mounts

Another vote for the EXH001. Fitted two this afternoon to replace my perished originals. Fit tight in the bracket without the need for trimming and the pre-cut holes were in the right place for the aftermarket (Scorpion) exhaust on my car. Secured both with a couple of cable ties. Has...

Interesting. Will get it up on a ramp and report back.

Lurching left at speed - possible castor problem?

Cheers for the input. Quick update: jacked the front of the car up this afternoon and gave both front wheels an exploratory waggle. No obvious play in either wheel that would suggest the ball joints are knackered. I'm no expert so will get the garage to confirm on my next trip, I think.

Lurching left at speed - possible castor problem?

Morning all Curious to see if anyone has experienced something similar to this problem I'm having with my Cup-suspended 182. At motorway speeds (say 55 mph and above) when turning left on long bends, the steering angle will suddenly increase markedly with a slight movement of the wheel...

Lumbar support - where does the cable go?

Edit: on reviewing my own photos again, I see that it may be that I need to feed the cable through the small hole on the left hand side of the winder mechanism. Will have another look at the weekend.

Lumbar support - where does the cable go?

Thanks mate. I used that to get the seat cover off and expose the mechanism, but the odd thing is that when I compare the 9th and 10th pictures in that sequence, the winding mechanism on that seat does not resemble the one from my driver's seat (and my metal clip is still present). In...

Lumbar support - where does the cable go?

Bump (if only because it took me a while to put those red rings on the pictures!)

Lumbar support - where does the cable go?

Evening all One of the little jobs that needs fixing on my 182 is the broken lumbar support. I appreciate that this is a relatively common complaint and have searched the forum for a couple of ideas, but could do with a pointer or two from those that have fixed this in the past. The end of...

    New (old) BG FF182

Hello all Recently acquired a straight if every so slightly scruffy 81k mile 182 to use as a winter hack and thought I would introduce myself: This photo is as of today, when the refurb'd cup Turinis have just been attached. The scruffy originals will be following the old parcel shelf with...
