Used to be a relatively common spot years ago, had a few (think 5) myself back in the day. There was a bloke who used to break them like crazy, pretty sure he’s partly responsible for the lack of them now haha.

Interior is awful though, plus no manual option. They don’t look special enough to me on the outside either, just looks like a young girly car all round. If you’re going to go turbo you may as well get a mk3 265 facelift.

Worth a Check of the fuse box under bonnet, my old one sat for a long time (wouldn’t start) and the fuel pump relay got a bit furred up with corrosion in its socket. Went through and cleaned all contacts (along with others in the box) and was fine after.

As above, aux belt is the real enemy, also the aux belt tensioner seizing on its pivot. The aux belt snapping will kill these engines by wiping the timing belt out as they let go.

Yes, it was Facebook. I had a lot of interest but even still people wanted the world for £2500. I guess it was a bit too cheap but I didn’t want to mess around for weeks waiting plus having it a few years it didn’t cost me a lot to buy then.

Well, put mine up for £2700 and had a lot of messages. Sold within a day for the £2500 bottom line I wanted. Forgot it had a trophy spoiler too! May be a good barometer for some folk pondering sale.
