Anyone know what happened to the iPhone camera in recent year or so?

My pics have this awful silver look to the high exposed areas.

Had iPhones since day 1 and this recent picture thing is awful.

Tried various settings but always the same. It’s getting to the point I can see other people’s pics on Instagram etc that have the same effect.

Not some kind of filter or anti-scratch coating stuck on the lens?

It wasn’t.

I have found what it was now. Had always assumed it was this HDR thing but turned that off and no difference.

It was actually just how the iPhone actually displays the pictures.

Go to settings, photos and view full HDR, turn off and it shows them in camera roll normally.

I tried to screen shot them to show the difference but the iPhone some how displays screen shots with same adjustments too!

Really been bugging me and had assumed it was how the camera takes it!
