Cool, well i got that off earlier and im going to change it and see what happens... fingers crossed that its this thats the problem else its major re wire time.
You have given me a confidence boost anyway so thanks!
I know this isnt a renault, but french cars are often very similar. My friend is having some major problems with his pug, its not firing at all. An auto electrician checked it out and seemed to think it was the distributor. so changed that but still the same. Im a little confused about the...
Thanks for the replys fellas, i know there is someone out there somewhere who would just come and drag it away. didnt really want to pay to get it taken as scrap is worth a fair bit. ill give that fella a call and see what he says. otherwise i might have to pay the £20 for this bloke to come get...
Hi, does anyone know anyone who is willing to remove a shell for me? ive rang around all the scrappers and car removal people around Leeds and no one wants to take a shell without wheels. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Cheers, Tobe
cheers for the tips, iscv is ok, only replaced it a little while ago. think i found out what it was, seems the ecu was wet, the tray it sits in was upside down and water had got in, should have thought this, as both times its done it, the car had got wet, once after i washed it, and another...
i always wondered what that key was for, is it always on then? and if i turn the key will it go off? there is also a lock for a small key just next to where the fuse box is in the engine bay, whats that for? i think my other valver has the same so dont think its a non standard part..
ok just been out to the car, started it, it started, was idling fine for about 30 seconds, then just died, all of a sudden, heard something click in the engine bay (i was standing over the battery side) but couldnt tell what it was, then wouldnt start again.
someone must have some ideas?!?
ok heres the problem, car was running fine, started it one day sat waiting outside a shop for a mate, it cuts out, no stuttering or sign of fuel starvation, just dead, wouldnt start again, checked and it wasnt firing
replaced, plugs, dizzy, rotor arm, crank angle sensor and coil. didnt get...
Just put a williams engine into my mk1 valver, its black with turbines, completley orignal looking but ive put the phase 2 boot strip on the rear so there are no badges at all, i fancy a really really subtle small willams badge or sticker somewhere on the car but not really sure where without...
Excellent, will my current door card fit the door? i assume it will cos people put leather from valvers into their standard clios? and i assume they change the door cards too.
Thanks fella.
As question states, i need a new door for my valver, but dont know weather i need to get one from another valver or can i just get one from a standard car? preferably need one in black for a phase 2, M reg 16v.
Thanks, Tobe.
sweet, thanks ben. now its just a case of finding a megane bottom end floating around, there was one on ebay a few months ago which would have been handy...
Ill keep an eye out.
haha, unfortunatley i wont be buying any cams at the moment, probably more like in the summer. but its worth a try. hopefully someone else will read this any fancy them...
Think this is the route i will go, 16v head, bit of head work and some cams...
probably 16v exhaust manifold for lower...
Got myself a 16v head, thinking about trying to get hold of an f7r bottom end, from a megane, am i right in thinking that i can use the 16v head with the f7r bottom end with no troubles.
Currently running a standard 16v but its clocked up 125k and is getting a bit tappy, cant afford to be...
hmm not really, got no movement in the wheels when holding at 12 and 6.. although nearside didnt seem to be running central, definatley needs further investigating. im still more worried its a noise coming from the diff or the gearbox layshaft bearings. its getting worse every time i go out in...
ill check her out tomo, i did think wheel bearing but ive had them go before and its never been quite as loud as it is. guess the thing might be pretty mashed.
Cheers fellas
My valver has seen better days in the engine and box department. its just ticked over onto 120k and its developed a whuring noise when driving along. im thinking that its probably the main shaft bearings on the box but its hard to tell, anyone else experienced this? its not a constant noise but...
in the last year i have tried numerous combinations of discs and pads from standards, to OMP racing red dot but they all warped within a few months, best set up so far is what i have for the time being, brembo grooved discs and green stuff pads. holding up fine and dont suffer half as much from...
isnt the williams box just the same but with a taller 5th gear? ratio wise i mean, i guess the williams is slightly stronger to allow for that bit of extra power..
does anyone know where i can get a new or reconditioned starter motor? apart from of course Renault who i assume would be a rip off. mine is jamming and i figure getting a second hand one is easier than taking mine off and repairing it, can get the job done in one day then.
Dont you just love...
Spotted you twice today, this morning when i drove past and gave you a nod, and just now going down the road. id just got out my car, identical to yours, Black valver. yours sounded mint just now and looked the tits burning down the road (speed limit speeds of course) haha
See you around, Tobe.
black 182 heading past the university and a 172 queing for the light car park... both looking very shiny and sweet in the sun.
i was in my black valver. which was dirty but i was heading to a car wash via the town centre. if anyone sees a black slammed valver popping and banging its way...
has anyone read this months evo? its got a big article on the V6 aswell as the new megane 255. Deffinatley makes the mkII to be out to be so much more defined and stable than the MK1, worth the extra cash, personally i love the V6, for its looks and the whole concept, i think id be dissapointed...
you cant legally tow anything without a towing licence, not even another car, let alone a trailer with a car, then again it hasnt stopped me. i dont know if all rossers will know the law, but i had to tow a friend in a mk1 golf along the A1 so thought id check before, the chief at the cop shop...
