How about huge queue of cars behind some slow git at the front and they have no intention of overtaking but they then bunch right up so you cant do the safe thing of overtaking them one at a time, you have to do 3 or 4 at once. Really gets me that, caravans are a prime example of this, funnily...
I had something like this although the display on the climate control packed up too just during that really cold few days about a month ago. Took it to Renault Cheltenham who diagnosed the heater loom had gone they managed to fettle me a repair whilst they got the replacement part in.
Took...
Ive got a 1.6 and its quick enough for me. I tried a 1.4 when I was getting it and I felt it was a lot slower and seemed to need much higher revs and so noisier on the motorway.
Be wary of insurance groups though, there seem to be a few different ones quoted around, from 8 to 12 and you can...
pretty sure i havent turned it off as ive now gone and sat in the car for about 30 mins (yes im still cold) and pressed all the buttons in a variety of orders.
I dont think ive ever turned it off, but to turn on you just press a/c dont you? (or that button above off, cant remember what its...
Got in my car this morning and my climate control isnt working. The annoying thing is neither is my heater, the whole display which normally shows the temp and all the buttons arent working just the back light behind the lcd is on.
Any ideas to sort this? I would quite like some heat in the...
Quote: where will i be able to find out my HU code?
it was in the front of one of my handbooks, watch out for dodgy print, as in mine it looked like a 8 but was actually a 6, had me worried for a bit until i worked it out!
I did mine and had some issues with the firmware so it is worth doing a search on the web and getting the new one (apologies im at work and the links to it all are at home, if you have problems with it though, get back to me and ill try and dig it out for you).
Other than that, just remember...
Quality i finally find out what has been going wrong with mine as it has been doing this, i shall try the resetting trick and see if that works. Kept forgetting to ask on here, then would get in car and remember Doh!
have 1.6 Dyn, on about 8,000 miles and a few niggly electrical problems have started.
About a month and a half ago, when you turned the engine off, the little lights on the dash would stay on for about 10mins before finally going off. Bit strange i thought, didnt do anything and its stopped...

Hi, I have the Dension icelink and its a fantastic piece of kit, I know £130 seems a lot for a lead to connect your iPod to your H/U, but IMO its well worth it, I just leave my iPod in the glovebox out of sight and use the steering...
cant figure out why the link wont work, any ideas? Do a cut and paste:
www.densionusa.com/x/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=407&Itemid=109
and it seems to work
its finally arrived, a proper gadget to display ID3 tags from an ipod on the headunit. However so far its only available in the states from the 1st december, so i reckon expect at least another 3 month wait for it to get here and then there will be the compatability issues too.
Probably...
i dont know but i doubt that there is an AUX in on the back of the headunit.
Mostly they connect through the CD Changer so if you can find out whether this is the same as a normal VDO/phillips unit. I would guess that there would be some kind of changer socket on the back and there cant be...
I had this a couple of months ago, would suddenly lose it and then sometimes would refuse to get lock back at all until i took the origin out of the cradle a couple of times. Got so fed up ended up taking the whole kit out and taking the cradle apart, stuck it back in and its worked fine since...
I dont see why they cant get the ID3 tags to be displayed, when youre listening to the radio it shows what station youre listening to, so it can display text.
Mind you, ive never got CD Text to show so maybe not.
If youre just driving locally, iTrip is an option but as soon as you do any...

for e46s has loads. There is some technical/sales bloke who works for dension who gos on there and answers questions and gives updates on their product and more specifically the ice>link.
They seem to be developing it for...
No you cant use the changer as it uses that plug to interface with the head unit.
Its the one thing that puts me off, Im greedy and want both especially as ive got a mini which is full.
Dension have nearly developed a newer version which would display the ID3 tags on the head unit...
thats what ive found. Any further than about 40 miles from home i just dont bother, as its a real hassle to find empty frequencies as youre driving and by the time youve tuned it in, it changes again

not as dull as it sounds, i have an ipod mini which is already full, so if i get a couple of new cds whilst Im out then i can listen to them straight off. Its not unusual for me to not be able to update the ipod for a couple of weeks as Im often away.
I do see youre point though, whilst it...
Hope this isnt a dull question, but if it interfaces via the multichanger cables and you have a multichanger where does that leave you?
Do you have to choose between the ice link and the multichanger or can you have both?
its a bit of a grey area, if you have it there specifically to jam the laser then yes, they can sell them as in theory you could open a garage door with one. Police can tell though if youre using one as it comes up with an error message on the laser gun and then they can pull you for "perverting...
sound quality aint too bad, remember you are playing the music in compressed format (mp3 or aac).
There is also a bit of a sweet spot with the volume and tuning so you have to do a bit of fiddling. Scares people a bit if you tune it to a radio station, radio 1 for example, and play your stuff...
