£500 for decent coilovers?

With £500 I would get some sport line lowering springs (2nd hand - some in for sale for £100) with the remaining £400 either a cup spoiler or Turinis.

You don't need 4pots on a Clio unless doing track work. Standard brakes are absoloutley fine.

Can you actually drive? Best to get the most from what you have before throwing money down the toilet imho.

My suggestion = brakes + tuition/track days.

A good driver will show a coilovered + tuned 172 the way home in a 1.2. Search for Fred. He can pilot an automobile as far as im aware.

perhaps book the suspension in for a geo/corner weighting session

Or get it detailed

Or go on holiday

+1 The best speed/handling improvement would be driving training, anything left over by some decent rubber.
