06plate 1.2 campus sport struggling to start

  clio campus sport
Hi all, got a 1.2 06 plate clio, had it for a year now just had its first mot and service since ive owned it. however last couple of weeks its been a total nightmare to start up, really hit and miss tho, most of the time it starts up no bother but other times its a real pain; takes 2 or 3 attempts and its really struggling and when it does turn over its revving its nuts off. At first i thought this may have been as it had barely any petrol in (bein a student bum) or just cause it had been sat there all night/day or parked on a bank etc. filled up, still being a little biatch.
Also this problem has only seemed to occour since I got it serviced but that was about a month ago and as i said its very hit and miss...could this be anything to do with it?
any advice appreciated, could have come at a worse time as im in middle of exams and skint too.
thanks a lot

It's about 20 quid from Renault. A garage will probz charge about an hours labour although its.a 10 minute job. If you've got a 10mm (think its 10mm) socket then you can easily do it in minutes.

However, on my old Clio 2 taking off the sensor and giving it a clean sorted out my problems.

Massively late reply on this one guys but thanks for all your help!
Turns out it was the temperature sensor fuse on its way out-hence why the problem was so intermittent.
Looks like I have another ignition problem at the minute tho, perhaps something to do with the key fob chip/imobiliser
