0awg lol

Ok, i know where the gromet is and can get the 8 and 4awg cable through it, just not for the love of life can i see how to get 0awg cable through the gromet.

There is a black square'ish cable and then the bonnet release cable that seems to have a hard plastic bit stopping it from moving.

Only way i can see how it can go through is around the gromet but through the hole.

anyone close'ish to notts want to give it a go?

Literally just looking and searching for the same thing, although mines 10awg...

The grommet is very tight but theres only 2 small cables going through... apprently its blocked with plastic and can be cut with a stanley knife however ive never seen the thickness of 0awg and you will probably have to drill elsewhere?

Guide if you havent seen it, didnt think to remove the power steering res before i read this:

Im going to use the grommet hopefully, where would you drill for the OP though? i thought where the feck would i start? remove the carpet at the back of the engine, where abouts can you drill?

10 awg will piss through the grommet tbh i got 3 8 awg wires through

i had a focus that i just attacked with a hole saw

0 gauge you'd have to drill a new hole I reckon. No way you'll get 0 gauge through the existing grommet. Just drill it near the existing grommet and check both sides for obstructions obvs.

I used the grommet of the bonnet release cable. Worked fine with an 0 awg (50mm²) cable.
I can not possibly see a way of getting 50mm² cable in that gromet, the cable is wider than the opening in it.

So to all who have drilled, where about have you done yours? Pics if possible please.

0AWG fits fine

The grommet where the bonnet release cable goes through has a flat blank section below the existing hole
The grommet itself is quite large but theres only a small hole through for the release cable

Just shove a screwdriver through it to make a new hole and push the cable through
Worked fine on mine :)

Well kinda - you just said you used the gromet - I thought I'd expand a little and explain you have to make a new hole in the gromet because if he's trying to shove it through the same hole as the bonnet release it'll never go LOL

Ya free at the weekend as my gorilla hands and body struggle to get in that little space to move around to cut anything.

LOL not really mate no

Undo the power steering bottle (its just a clip) and move it forward in the bay

Pull the sound deadening forward and you can see where it goes through really easily
Just shove a screwdriver through it to make a hole then push the cable through - simples :)

Done my wiring... easy enough minus the f**king awquard poision you have to be in to cut the grommet, got a small lock knife through the bottom, fed some white cable through as a guide... was looking down at the brake servo or whatever its called for a while till i looked at the guide again and followed my hand down the suspension turret with the wires and felt it (thats for anyone in the future reading)

Its not as easy as i thought but its done...

Got the thumping sub woofer because i badly earthed the amp with a cheap fork connector and onto the iso fix bar which obviously isnt right...

On my 1.2 each rear light had earthing bolts... have it got it right if i wanted to use the light earth temporarily on the 182, it would be the bolt that holds the whole light in? my earth cable is too short for the seatbelt bolt... or could i use the seatbelt bolt that is for the headlining seatblet?

I hope the thumping is the earth! not too sure if its the amp ive bought...

Sorry for the slight hijack OP
