1.2 16V running rough

My brothers 2002 1.2 16v is running badly.
When idling the revs are fluctuating and don't settle even when warm, quite often stalls unless the revs are kept up.
The orange light below the fuel light comes on, I think its the engine management light.
Its had the coilpacks done just under a year ago, but the carbon canister is ticking.
Any ideas?

Main problems are either the coil pack, tdc sensor, spark plugs or the box has started cutting the wires. If you was closer i would let you try mine on to see what cures it to save you a bit of money

Still could be the coil pack, my friend bought a brand new genuin renault one and it packed up again after about 6 months

Sounds like a dirty throttle body or TDC sensor... unless your coil packs are away again!!?

Weigh it in lol, Try the idle valve mine was seriously crudded up in my old clio. Carbon canister pssshhh rip it out!!

oh yeah, idle control valve is a common one too...

Get that and your TB cleaned and if it is still the same try replacing the TDC sensor!

There isn't an ISCV as its fbw throttle. The ECU just opens the throttle for cold idle instead.

Aye, ive been having this problem. Feels like its miss firing some times and it has a horrible tendancy to stall. They (reno) cleaned the throttle body and replaced the TDC, still getting it so im going to have to change the map sensor in the new year. Cost about £60 for the part off 'tinternet (youll pay an arm and a leg from stealers).
