1.5 DCI 65 question...

Can you retrofit an intercooler from either the 80 or 100 varietys to the 65? Just thinking it may help things along if and when you remap a 65??

Or am i talking rubbish?

yep will fit straight on, i have the dci100 intercooler on my dci65:

can see it sitting behind the bottom grill

imo the best mod you can do to the dci65, feels MUCH better!

so all you done is the intercooler? would like to do this to our 65. Mind you, I have a GTiR intercooler to fit to the surf thats been sitting around for ages... one day.

yeah thats the only engine mod, air filters and things don't do much, can't be bothered with decat. the rest are exterior mods as you can probably tell!

If you want to go mad on front intercooler.....

A Megan 225 intercooler fits nicely in there.... alot bigger than the 100 diesel version.....

A remap and intercooler are what i would recommend.... things like airfilter, Zurst wont make much of a difference....

Would there be any need for something that big? I'd imagine that the DCi's run at quite low boost pressures and low charge temps, so you'd only need a small IC to keep things cool?
Would a DCi be affected by throttle response/ turbo lag like a petrol would with a bigger IC?

Something like an alloy 5 GT Turbo IC is quite small and plenty available

Looks good Macester! So what do I need from a 80/100 that a 65 doesn't have? oil pipes etc and where do they connect 2?

Also, your 182 bumper... how easy are they to fit to a 65?

to fit the IC100 onto the 65 you'll need:

Damper
Turbo to IC pipe
IC To Manifold pipe
and the intercooler itself

I would recommend doing it if you plan on keeping the car for a while. would be also good if you could source the parts second hand as from the dealer they are expensive! I managed to get some second hand through dcioffice.

as for the bumper, i have 172 wings also so it fits nicely, you can fit the bumper to standard wings but it needs to be pulled in and is abit of a bodge. The 172 bumper is wider than a normal bumper you see so they have wider wings.

what is a damper ?? i will do this and get it custom remaped off rs tunning im sticking in a k&n pannle fillter as well
