1.8 8v RSI?????

Has anyone got one, had one, heard of em or otherwise?!? I have one but i'm having problems finding anyone who does any useful engine mods eg no cams available, no exhaust manifolds etc etc. I know it's only 8v but i like the drive and wanna keep the low end grunt. Anyone got any suggestions?!?

Spk to Lunner on the forum or try williamsclio... hes on there a lot.

There are bits available, Lunners has had one for a while and a few people on here have had them.

exhaust, de cat and chip would be a good start, and i'm sure benr/ andygdi will do cams or head polishing.

http://www.catcams.be do cams for them...about 300quid from QEP motorsport which is the only UK supplier. Beyond that, you can also bolt a 2ltr BE on from a laguna for extra torque...direct fit. Unfortuanely, you can't get exhaust manifolds for them that i know off the shelf though.

Point to note is that the 1.8 RSI engine is an evolution of the 1.7 8v engine so any 1.7 parts will fit (possibly with some work). This means;

volvo 1.7 turbo parts,
renaultsport 1.7 single seater engine parts (i.e inc dry sump etc, cam, balanced engine)

Excellent, all info is gold! will try and use it, my next thought was a turbo, but need to find out the weak points of the bottom end really. Lots of ideas at the moment. Appreciate all the help so far peeps.

Well if you're going to turbo it, just stick the entire volvo engine in...less hassle.

im having the same problem for my RSi

im trying to look for suspension stuff and its hard cos the RSi seems to have its own section :S compared to the 16v and lower models

I had one, unmodded though. I loved it! Good car but not as good as my 172 MkI, build quality not fantastic.
