100bhp?

  My Legs
hiya does anyone know if it is possible to get 100bhp out of a 2003 clio 1.2 16v?? but having the power there all the time, dont want to use NOS.

standard its 75bhp so it needs a 25bhp hike.

thanks any advice would be ace!!!

Yesss.... but... it would cost loads and wouldn't be worth it.

You could get a 172 engine in there four about 4k I think, but again that's not very good VFM either.

VFM???

whats that?

i would love to get a faster car but i cant afford the insurance or the car it self like, its only cause i drove a VTR the other day and there 100bhp standard and i thought that i was gonna be quick enough.

are the 1.6 16v's rare? ive never seen them in the garage b4, wouldnt mind getting one of thoese instead.

i was gonna mod my car, then get the conversion... think its 3k from k-tec.

i think most ppl will say save up for a new car like karl but the money it would cost to get an extra 25 bhp its not worth it.

if u was buy things like a de-cat, new manilfold s/s exhaust, chipped, air filter, striped out etc you still prob wont get 25 bhp so best bet would be to just get a conversion...imo anyway ;)

vtr is a 1.6 best saving a getting a few years NCB before you spend lots of £ for little gain imo

yeah 3k seems alot for the conversion, but you get alot in the package.

i dream of having a 172cup but the insurance people dont like that idea, i rekon they wont like the plan that i will be doing do it either,

172cup with 282 bhp, rekon they will cack their pants!!

it may be possible with cams but not worth the effort, your talking well over a grand then u'd need a straight through exhaust, induction, remap etc etc

DIY its much chepaer definatly not worth £3k+vat plus the extra you always should do like cambelt chnage plus new clutch plus decinet new fluids.

100hp is possible on the engine just not worth it no tunning is realy but £ per hp a 172 transplant is the best option. You'd end up spending as much as a transplant as getting the 1.2 to 110hp.

well i can save a couple of hundred quid at a time and buy the mods, just cant save up thousands to buy a car :D

personally i would not bother with nos, you will put too much pressure on the pistons and conrods, nos is better on stronger engines eg 1.8 and above as they can withstand power. But the thing is with nos you car wont be x bhp all the time, but if you was thinking about doing it i wouldnt go over a 25bhp shot unless you want to replace the engine every 4 weeks.

Nos on the 1.2's blows both th intake manifold (since there formed plastic ones) ad the piston rings to pieces.
