120 degress advance

Someone told me yesterday that V-twins have to run upto 120 degrees BTDC of ingnition advance. Is this true?

dont think of engine layout.......its still onle a single cylinder which you look at.

but it does depend on chamber design, fuel quality, CR etc etc
