Err... didnt think the Cup had a pollen filter unless it has climate?!

cheers fella, the reason i was asking was coz me mates a spanner monkey and he said he would do the job for the price of the parts and a couple of pints, which is considerably cheaper than the renault guys,

only prob is the old service history stamp!

ill let me mate do it i think ill just have another service at 18k by renault like all the other clios, i gues ill just have to sell it in a couple of years to a guy that knows fcuk all about 172s

thanks mush.

Exactly...

If it aint done by Renault & stamped up it also invalidates the warranty!

I always check what Im paying for now...

When I had my 106 GTi I got loads knocked off the 2 year/20k service becuase they didnt do certain stuff (at my request) and it was enough to get the stamp in the book & keep the warranty!

I dont think the pollen filter only goes with climate (?) its on there for the normal vent/heater system also.

will the warranty be invalid if the car is taken in at say 13,500miles for the 12k service, or am i just being stupid??

Renault do have a small leyway(sp?) but 1.5K miles is quite a bit so maybe. Though mine was done at around 10.5K as I was heading off to Europe.

Also people have said that as long as you use Renault parts then the warranty will not be invalidated, although I want the stamps - expensive for a bit of ink!

I was told to take mine in either side of 1000 for the 12k service or invalidation would occur

regards,ian

erm £176! mine was in last week for a 12k service and Reno Darlingtons of Harlow charged me £210.00 rip off and I told em. and they didnt stap the book so I have to go back with receipt.

The issue with regards service and warenties goes on a sliding scale so if you get the car serviced at 15k then any warently work will not be full paid by Renault. If the car was serviced at 14k then you would pay less and Renault would pay more towards any warently work.

There are no problems with having your car serviced early Renault like you to service the car more as its a good earner as garage make 75% of there profit from servicing cars

I Just had a look on the renault site (lazy git) and the Cup definately does not come with Pollen filter or recirculation.

So no pollen filter or Air Filter for me (I have got the ITG panel filter, so they is no need to replace with that crap renault one). Therefore less £29.38 + the deduction in labour, I should be able to get the service for around £120.

Plus my 20% discount from renault, agreed with the service manager for all the repeat problems = £96.00 :D

ITG make a filter, whcih just slots into where the renault paper one goes. Excellent quality foam, just the nuts to be honest (£42 delivered), if you want a contact name pm me. Makes the car rev more easily, that combined with the r-sport ecu = vavavooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom. :D
