172 Cup in Black?

Just spotted a black 172 for sale where the seller claims it is a 172 cup and that it's listed as such on the v5. I stuck the reg into parkers and it says it's a 172 cup. Never heard of such a creature. Am I losing my mind?

I had a 51 plate black 172 that was registered as a "Renault SALOON" so i'm assuming its been registered incorectly.
