172 de-cat

Thinking of getting one for a 172 (not mine), i know they're easier to remove and replace on the 182 than 172.

Anyone got one on their 172 and got pics / advice on how easy it is to put the cat back on come MOT time?

I remember reading someone had paid £25 to have it done somewhere prior to their MOT.

its a t**t of a job to change on the 172 but its only once a year.
The hard part is getting at the bolts from the back you need a bendy extention bar and a spanner on the other side. ideally you need it on a ramp to get at it properly.

thats allot more hassle to get done though , and also it aint n e where near as cheap as a decat

i think he meant slap a 182 manifold on to make it easier to fit a decat i.e. a 182 decat?

when i changed mine me and craig changed it ok took about 1hr 30mins after we sawed through the rounded off bolts.

if you've got the correct tools its easy enough, this was on a mk2 ph1 172 so not sure if its different on the mk2 ph2
