172 foglight question

both my foglights are smashed, is it just the glass that needs replacing or whole unit? if its just the glass do i still have to pull out the whole unit to change? how are they connected? best place to get them eg gsf? anybody tried 'invisible sheild' (have it on my nano) or similar to protect them? many thanks.

I got one from Cliospares. Think it was about £40. Paid Renault to fit it when the car went in for some work though. I think you have to remove the arch lining to fit them.

pretty sure it's the whole unit that needs to be replaced. i'm currently needing a passenger side one.

i've been meaning to cover mine for ages with armourfend, but once replaced i'll make a point of getting them done...although not sure how much it will really protect the glass to be honest.

Yeah, as Em said, it's the entire unit.

GSF is your best bet @ £40 brand new, including the bulb - so the entire unit.

Make sure they're adjusted to the right height once fitted.

I managed to get one from ebay for £7!!

As for fitting, think of the most fiddly thing in the world, then double it - its a right b*****d to do.

I managed to do mine without removing the arch liner completely. Just be prepared for hands that are scrapped to bits!

they are not like the older ones then where you can just take them out with two philips screws, (don't know whether that's a good or a bad thing now).
