Well you have to take the front bumper off which is time consuming rather than difficult (need 2 people ideally) lol We were lucky enough to do it on the ramp at Dads work but it should only take an extra half hour or so if your doing it at home.

Hope that helps

Its a direct fit.

Pretender can you stop moaning, i said your wheels looked a bit strange in the arches, that was it, i was positive about your car you numpty! Dont let that affect the judgement of every last thing i say.

Giving an honest answer is not negative, the grille is a lot of a money and its not worth it because he has a perfectly good grille which only a prize geek would be able to tell the difference from the 172 one. But if clio dynamique wants to pay £188 for 2 pieces of plastic, fair enough.

I dont want to get into a slanging match with you mate, my comment about the positive posts wasnt about my car, thats all finished now, it was about the fact that someone asks a question and you reply with something that doesnt help them in the slightest.

I was stating a fact, its a rip off, sorry i didnt make a story of it.

Yeah Jill was wondering the same thing, taking the bumper off for the top grille? Is everyone talking about the same thing here?

Front bumper has to come off as Pretender mentioned in previous post. The 2 grille sections are part of the plastic panel u see when u open the bonnet. With the bumper off it just unclips.

on the subject of front bumper removal on a mk2 172, whos attempted the tricky feat, and can we have a blow by blow account and best sequence etc.

My faith in myself had been restored! Knew I was right! lol Philip the best person that I know to tell you the best sequence would be me dad, Balck Fox, ill get him to post up some info for you.

Under the bonnet u have 2 remove the 2 clips that hold the grille section in place.Under the front of the bumper there r 2 bolts that hold the air deflector onto the subframe, remove these. In each wheel arch remove the screws & mushroom plugs that hold the liners in place. Once the liners r removed or pulled back u will c 2 10 mm bolts up where the bumper meets the wing, undo these, there may also b a small metal clip holding the wing and bumper 2gether. With the help of a friend release the bumper at the corners & pull the bumper forwards away from the car.Dont 4get 2 undo the plug on the fogs.

Ps. When u look 4 the 2 10mm bolts u will c 2 on each side, cant remember which 1 u undo but it dosnt matter if u undo both of them, just more work!

Hope this is helpful.:)
