172 headunit autochanger

I have a 172 03reg and want to change the headunit because i need to run my amps. I have the alpine autochanger and was wondering has anyone found out how to use the autochanger with an upgraded alpine headunit. Is there a converter so that the 6 disc autochanger can be used.

I think the changer will only work with the head unit fitted by Renault. Leads are different.
