172 Using 197 Cams - Safe to Start?

Hi Folks,

After a lot of faffing around I've nearly finished swapping in a new 172 engine running 197 cams. The car currently is still using the base map, so I am safe to start it up and get it running? I've no intention of blasting around in it until I've had it mapped properly, but I need to bed in the new clutch so ideally I need to drive it around a little bit first.

I'm sure it'll be fine but I'd just like to double check first to make sure I'm not going to blow it to pieces!

Thanks all!

Thats interesting what you have done by moving the alternator down to take the position of the old Pulley.
i added an adjustable bar and pulley for my AC delete.

I drove mine from Brichdown to EFI to get mapped once the cams were put in, was told to take it steady and keep the revs down.

This is the one I have , similar design , however does take abut more setting up with winding out to get the belt to not squeak
