182 automatic xenons

  Renault clio 182
Hi everybody,
I have a 2005 182 with the automatic headlights, for some reason they have stopped being automatic and i have to turn them on/off manually. Anybody had this problem before and could point me in the right direction?
Would be much appreciated, thanks

Try turning the ignition to position one, then turn your side lights on and off twice. You should then hear a beep and they’ll work.

Alternatively has the car had a new windscreen? I think the sensor is located behind the mirror and needs to have the correct screen to work.

Not had a new windscreen but turning the side lights on and off now makes sense to me as ive got the fog light showing on the dash when i press brake pedal, so i may have turned them off when ive been messing haha i will give it a go cheers mate, much appreciated 👍

The foglight will be the earth pins on the rear light connectors

Which ones are the earth pins? Ive got some new rear lights (full units) coming today, hoping they will solve the issue.

Check the earth wires behind the carpet/plastic trim as well.

The black rubber grommets either side of the tail lights can leak water and it runs down inside right onto the earth points 🤦‍♂️
