182 engine swap

  Clio 182
Hi all, firstly I’m really sorry for asking this again. I know it’sbeen asked before but I’m too thick to understand the answers 🙄

Anyway I have a 2004 182 with a knackered engine. I’ve seen 182s with the solid style inlet manifold (mine is the gappy style) but will the engine from the solid style fit straight in to my 182 and connect to the 421 manifold etc with no fettling? And will my inlet manifold fit on to the other engine?

Thank you

Do you have any pictures to explain? Only differences between inlet manifolds that I am aware of is the different breather system but doesn't affect the general appearance of the manifold

Thanks Tarby!!!
So the engines are fundamentally the same, exhaust manifold will fit. Anything else I need to know?

A 172 engine will have a different breather set up but can be fitted in a 182 but best to get a 182 engine, the plastic cover is just cosmetic.

Thank you, great van by the way, I’ve also got a t4 but of course it needs work!
