182 Gearbox selector shaft seal replacement

I've an oil leak from the selector shaft seal on the gearbox of my 182. I believe the part number is 8201048885 which I've ordered. I just wondered if anyone's had to replace their's and could give me any hints/tips ? Hope it's not a box out job ?

From what im lead to believe if you want to do it correctly and properly you need to drop the box and crack it open and replace the seal.
This is what I have been advised by my Renault specialist
