Spare, as foam can only fix minor punctures if any, also tyre places wont touch a foamed tyre.

...and how many people who lug a spare wheel about have actually had to use it?

I'm curious.
Not on the 182, but the Lupo GTI I did. Had the car a few months and pulled up to pick someone up, thought it was a drop kerb but wasn't and instantly deflated tyre with a rip. Had to leave the car there for 2 days while I waited for the silly tyre size to come in stock. Not having that happen again......

You could do but it's always a risk. My flat happened 3 miles from home but it was still extremely inconvenient.

Just the foam and cross my fingers! I think I'll try and get a spare 182 wheel though to replace one of mine thats a bit fooked, then use that one as a spare.

inspected my spear in my 172. noticed it was a bit flat and said to myself "take it out and see if its got a puncher 2moz" later that day had a blowout 20miles from home and no foam!

luckly managed to get hold of my dad who went to my house took the wheel down to quick fit got it sorted and came out to meet me. sat on the A1 for 2 hours just cos i was too lazy to get the tyre done when i should.

lesion learned!

I've only got the foam - was looking to get a spare wheel just incase!

No point in getting a New Alloy - Is there a cheap wheel you could use? just to stick on and run for a day or too until u get a new tyre? special size requirement?

No spare, and tbh I couldnt be bothered having it in the boot, it would take up to much room, especially on a long journey away.

Tire foam is in the boot, but would only use that if there was no other option, AA Card is the best option at least they would get me to a garage.

Problem is - if your on a long journey and they take you to a garage - what are the chances of having that tyre size in stock (if they can't repair it).

Slim but its better than been stuck on the hard shoulder for hours.

This happend to my dad in his BMW 530, it has run flat tyres, but when he did get a flat, you are told you can only run on them for so many miles before the tyre wall fails, he took it to a dealership after he phone BMW Assist and had to leave the car there as they didnt have a tyre.

I keep meaning to buy just a tyre on its own and leave it at home.
