So I changed the oil on my gearbox the other day. I put 3L in as indicated on various guides although it never overflowed.
Since then I have noticed it's more difficult to select 1st and 2nd from a standstill.
It's possible I could have knocked the linkage as I was undoing the sump (it was a right t**t). Does this sound a likely prognosis for such an issue. 3rd 4th and 5th all drop into gear no problem and once moving 1st to 2nd isn't any trouble although 2nd to 1st can be (usually double clutch for that anyway though).
I read a post on here somewhere about someone that lost 5th and a recommendation was to undo the linkage and retighten once in position. But how does this work? And can you do it on your own?
