Was thinking of splashing out on getting a few things for detailing my car like

  • Dual Action Machine Polisher
  • Detailing Clay
  • Waxes
  • etc
Do you think it will be worth the money if you have never done it b4 was hoping to try it on mine and hopefuly make abit of money from it by doing a few m8s cars ect.

any sugestions? :D

I think you're best bet would be to start with the basics first, and then if you find you enjoy detailing your own car work from there. There's no point spending hundreds of pounds and then deciding you dont have the patience etc.

Have a search around, lots of info on waxes and polishers.

As above grab a decent shampoo, wash mitt, clay, a polish that works by hand and some wax first.

Well i love cleaning my own car and have alot of spare time most nights.

Is it easy to polish and wax your car without a Machine Polisher?

It's not necessarily easier to polish by machine, you will achieve better results though.

Polish with AutoGlym SRP and seal with AG EGP. Add a wax if you want, have a look on CYC to see what is in your price range.

Easier to remove swirls by machine, but you can whip round a car and polish by hand with SRP in 10 mins.

Machining is alot more time consuming too.

Chemical Guys XXX is a good entry level wax, only costs £11 or thereabouts, although would be better of spending money on Autogylm Super Resin Polish first which you can get from Halfords, and some detailing clay. They should sell the Meguiars kit from Halfords too. That will make a huge difference, then take it from there mate.

Megs #16 can be a pain to use by hand at times, would not go for that a first wax experience.
