22bhp for £300

How can I give my car an extra 22 bhp for £300? Any Ideas?

Well, bugger. Id been thinking along the lines of Ramcharger and Exhaust System, but im guessing that would give me just over 10bhp.. would a chip be worth it?

chip will give u 5 bhp max on a 1.4

ive got a 1.4 16V si too, and i ave had a full exhaust system put on and a de cat. sounds wicked and efinitely gives a few extra horses.

im thinkin about a 50bhp nos kit for mine but its gona cost a fair bit

de cat? as in catalytic converter? How does getting rid of that help?

Helps reduce restriction in the exhaust so gases can leave the engine quicker so more air can be burned.

a chip on a 1.4 ive investigated it and its around 300 for about 4=6 bhp gain.

not worth it in my opinion.

A decat helps reduce the resistance in the flow of exhaust gasses, When the pistons come back up from a cycle they push the exhaust gasses out, if there is less resistance then there is less force used to push and so there is a power release rather than a gain, less power is used getting rid of the exhaust gasses so more can be used on the rest of the cycle !!

Shouldnt affect your MPG

So a chip anit worth it, and I have to admit that I never considered a de cat.

Is the catalytic converter seperate from the exhaust system, as in, if I was to get myself a K-Tec exhaust System would getting the de cat done be another job?
