235 Tyres

  Subaru Impreza (334BHP)
Thinking about upgrading the alloys and if I go for 16" or 17" I can put a 235 tyre on... Obviously it will look proper phat (gangster talk) but will this cause any problems? I really want more traction and the wider the tyre the better.

Not too sure what they will be like on the fronts though, apart from expensive?

Any thoughts?

Cheers, MikeyB

I would have thought that the sidewalls would flex massively as there'd be so much 'slack' in them?

I think the furthest most people have gone is 215s, but might be best to wait for Yoz or Fred as they're always playing with tyres. :)

wider aint always better mate. The larger contact area will eventually reduce the pressure exerted on the whole of the contact area; if that makes sense. The clio is a light car too, not needing to spread it's weight any more than necessary.

I'm finding the 172 mk II a lot better on 195s than 205s.
