3 Clutch cables in 8 months

First one snapped, got a replacement one, non-genuine, was stiffer and also snapped, then fitted a genuine renault one about 6 months ago if that, now it just snapped again the other day??? No signs, I just pushed the pedal down and *snap* gone!

Any ideas?

pressure plate siezing probably. require new clutch kit unless all cables were incorrectly fitted?

Yeah the clutch has started slipping now as well, just not looking forward to having to shell out for a new one

Signs of clutch on way out is snapping cables. So by replacing cable you are not sorting the problem. Clutch and cable replacement should sort it.

Just a temp fix until I can get the clutch changed! Took 2 of us about 1-2 hours to change the cable, real b**terd!

it could also be that your pedal ratchet is shagged, and if u have the wrong cable i.e to short it will snap them easy, go to renault or gsf, get a new pedal and cable, that match, fit them and see if it does it again, a shagged ratchet will also make the clutch slip !
