i'd quite like to know this aswell...i got told just to buy the years policy then cancel it when i need to...and they would apparently refund some of the money...
yeah is it..i think c.slickers post ??...17+ bla bla...i have said i can get a 172 for about 4k, been in a bump but fixed by a mechanic who owned it so proper job most likely with renault parts with 23k for 4 grand, and if i bought it now i couldnt insure till 21 in sept hence 3month policy etc...all just thinking outloud really
Will insure you on a monthly basis for about £130 a month.
Just read the above post. Think you have to be over 21 and have more than 12 months driving experience.
To be onest there is no 'cheap' way to do insurance when you are young. You just have to drive safely in a smaller engined car for a couple of years to build up no claims.
It is not economically possible to drive a 172 at 17/18 unless you have a big wedge in the bank.
And to be honest I don't think you should own a powerfull car like that with such little road use. I did enough damage at 18in a 1.2 16v!
As said I was replying to the chap who started the thread initially but it is a usefull site for anyone.
I used it to insure my import Gen 6 Toyota Celica Convertible for a few weeks last Summer and it was hassle free.
I have never had to claim off it though and havn't heard any stories of people trying to so if you do use make sure you drive carefully (as i'm sure you do anyway).
