360 has packed up AGAIN!!

ok....this is my 3rd 360 now...this time it's just freezing??! no red lights or anything, I've desconnected everything and reconnected....tried with and without the hard drive and wireless adaptor connected and it makes no difference what so ever...just freezes...

anyone else had this? ides on what it may be?

I'm not interested in calling them due to the hassle I had last time but I guess I might have too...

tried with and without the game in...no difference...(plus I've set mine up to go straight to dashboard if turned on with a game in rather thanloading the game straigh away..)

sometimes doesn't get passed the first 360 logo coming up when you first turn it on...

lol, I did actually think that last night but thats costing money...atleast if I can get the 360 fixed that will be for free...although the warrenty has now run out but they get stuffed....I'm going to blag it somehow...

funny thing is I actually have 2 360's at home both now fooked, I was supposed to send the last one back when they sent me my 3rd one but I didn't. Wonder if I can blag it somehow, send them both back and get 2 new ones! lol then I can sell one to my brother! lol

if not then even slightly getting it enclosed will cause it to freeze etc etc

Yup - just got one of mine back in 13 day turnaround (including BH + weekend(

All 4 lights red mean AV Cable fault.

I had the same thing on mine...started freezing when any graphics where on the screen then occasionally it would give me three red lights. I rang them up and they were great. Next day UPS turned up, picked it up and I had it back in about 7 working days with a free 1 month live card.

Ry, ring em and start quoting trading standards acts at them like the one about the 360 not being fit for purpose etc and that just because its out of warranty doesnt give it the right to break!!! threaten them with trading standards or legal action hehe! gd luck matey

Check the AV cable, esp if you are on an HD tv (if you havnt done so already). If the cable switch isnt set properly to HD or has been knocked when using an HD set, it will continuously shut down the console until you reset the switch. A few people have been caught out with this and sent their 'boxes off when all they needed to do was to click the switch!

Don't think my cable has the switch as I'm using a VGA cable....also can't seee how or why it would have been switched if it does have one...I'll double check though cheers!

I might not bother trying to ring again, I'm not going to piss about with all the monkies over the phone again like last time.I'll give them one more chance tonight and if no answer in 10mins I think I'm going to write an e-mail to Microsoft UK Headoffice and let them know how crap thier 360 support line is and see what they are going to do about it....

actually thinking about it...I may still have all the e-mails from last time on my machine at home...might attach those aswell so they can see how crap it is for themselves! lol

alot easier to sort this time round...even tho I've run of warrenty I think she got a bit confused and they are fixing for free as though it's still under warrenty...just got to send it off to them when they e-mail me the "postage sticker"...fingers crossed they actually send me the e-mail! lol

ps3 is brilliant, amazing bluray drive, great looking, silent compared to a 360, built in wireless, large hdd, motion sensing controller, its the full package!

i love mine, not really played on my 360 since getting it!

PS3 is good enough for me, especially with the recent firmware additions and the now superb PS2 emulation.

One mans meat though, but at least the PS3 won't self destruct periodically.

high def movies, its currently said to be the best drive on the market, beating even the £1000 dedicated players which will be out of date now as they don't support bluray java and i got my first java disc this week, pirates of the caribbean, ps3 has the added advantage of never getting outdated as it can just update the firmware, most bluray drives can't.

There are so many good reasons to buy a 360 but one big fat one mentioned in this thread not to part with any of my money on this unreliable rubbish.
Seriously wtf is going on. The odd 360 breaking down, fair enough (a bad batch perhaps) but three 360's in the time you've owned it??!! If you were pouring milkshakes into them I could understand but this is not an acceptable level of reliability. I was in Game the other day and two 360 owners came in just while I was there complaining about feckked machines.
It seems it's not just the Xbox though, there are PS3 owners with machines naffing up too, again wtf is going on.
I've got a megadrive back at my folks place that still works, my PS2 has about 5-6 years of constant use covered in dust, but again, still works. My Akai sterio is 12 years old, it still plays cd's without skipping.
If Microsoft and Sony the two industry big shots cant get things right with two of the most desirable home entertainment systems, what hope do we have for future technology?
