Clio cup racing cars run standard calliers, is there a need for 4pots

makes me wanna pull my hair out when people say things like that!!

Endurance clio's use 4 pots

S1600/JWRC clio's use 4 pots

New 197 has 4 pots

Some 182 track users use 4 pots

All of the above must be idiots, as the cup racers dont use them?!?!?!?!?!?!

Dont think so, the clio cup race car, whilst is an an excellent bit of kit, is not the be all end all ultimate clio of all time!!!

oh, and in answer to your question,

pedal feel is good, i would say feels better than standard, very progressive etc.

Whats the deal with the compbrake kit now, have they sorted the issues with the lines that are way too long? It's things like that which put me off getting it done :(

I had the compbrakes, as sold by yourselves...Got to be honest, once up to temp they were great, no fade what so ever, looked stunning too. But they is no need for them. I nearly killed someone, because when their cold they literally don't work, and i tried both varients of the hawk pads.

Would i do it again....Hummm....no. Lucky the vee has 4 pots as std! ;)

Pedal feel is not the same as std either, it's a bit wishywashy imo, you can feel them working but you don't get a huge ammount of confidence. - Same with any race car i've driven. You have to learn and get to grips with these things. The breaks on the radicals were incredible, but again the pedal feel was horrible, i got them to put harder return springs on them so i could get some feel.

I agree when cold they are not great, but i only found that with literally the first push of the pedal.

Maybe as i had them on for quite a while i just got used to the way they work.

Ideally you would need to find someone with them, and do back to back tests.

Compbrake only do one length of hose for all thier kits, and we agree its too long!

We have told them and requested shorter but it fell on deaf ears unfortuantly.

We are looking into shorter hoses tho from a different supplier.

I have the compbrake kit. Pedal feel is different travel is longer IMO but they arent like hitting a brick wall they are nice and progressive. Ali had the race pads which require warming up. I have a fast road pad and they dont need warming up although they improve with a bit of heat, so it is purely due to pad compound as opposed to them being 4pots.

They save 10kg (5kg per wheel) of upsprung weight over the standard setup which is worth mentioning.

They are lighter, as powerful as standard and will lose heat better so wont fade, they also look  ;). You will get used to the different pedal feel.

The only reason I'd buy them would be for looks TBH. Having never used them though I'm in no position to say they are 'worthwhile'.

They are lots better than standard. I prefer the feel of the 4 pots to standard, much more progressive than the standard setup. Mine has DS2500 on them and they are fine from cold but get better and better as they get warm. Stopping distances are much shorter and far more reliable than the standard setup.

The hose length isn't an issue really, they just run back to the inner arch and stay there, there is nothing for them to get snagged on or anything sharp for them to rub against so there isn't a problem.

The pipe wasn't a big issue, it was just a bit messy and i had to flare my lines to get them to fit...Little things annoyed me about the kit. But alot of race bred set-ups require some fine tuning!

Mine has the proper connectors, so they just bolt straight on.
