4 up

Just wondered if any one regularly takes to the road or motorway with a car full, 4 adults, and what effect does it have on the ride quality/performance.

I am wondering if its worth getting cup suspension as i do 60 mile EACH WAY to work with 3 other guys, thankfully only once or twice a week. Car is going to look and feel low enough and was thinking it might be a tad uncomfortable with all that weight in it, as well as the spare wheel i am going to have to carry in the boot.

any thoughts any one?

Ive had a car full on many occasions, usually airport runs. Ive got Cup suspension which is fairly harsh most the time, but with a car full of people its fine. Handling is crap as I found out 4 up around the Nurburgring, but thats not an issue on the roads.

Performance wise its a fair bit slower, but still pulls very strongly and has no problems either on the motorway or normal roads.

Lee thats why im wondering wether its worth getting or just go for normal non-cup sus. Anyone else with any thoughts?

POW_clio, not really an option, dont fancy doing 120 miles a day on my own, all those miles being clocked up and all that fuel:eek:. Besides on the days i dont drive i can get my head down in the back, its no fun getting up at 4.00am when im on earlies.

true mate fair dos! I just like wen its me in the car..... saying that i dont really mind when the girlfriend is in the passenger seat! But 120 miles is quite an amount

I took out a cupd pack 182 on a test drive 3 up and was impressed with it, pulled pretty strong and handled nicely, cant wait to drive mine when it comes all by my self. When i have more than just me in my 106 gti it just feels crap, has no torque so the 182 shall be a relief.

If your doing 120 miles a day dont get a 182, get a Fabia RS.

Id just make sure they 3 guys that you give a lift to pay their duty.Charging them £5.00 each will cover the cost of petrol, and will be fair.:)

Cant really expect them to pay anything as they drive the other days, thats why i only have to drive once, sometimes twice a week.

Anyway have just been and ordered one today without cup sus, it was the only one i could get, last one of 20 they had in (DC COOK pick it up Mon/Tue)

Having been let down by broker, and having sold my car mid Sept on their info i was getting desperate. Still, looking forward to next week now as i am off work all week and will be able to go out and play :)
