450d or 1000d

Been looking at getting a camera for christmas, friend has pointed this one out........

or the 450d with one lens?i want to learn photography but bit of a beginner

1000d is the entry level and pretty much equivalent to the 350d which I have and is a very good camera, the 450d makes everything a little better.

if you can afford it, go for the 450d and learn with the kit lens, I used the 18-55 (non-IS) lens for a while with my 350 and it was a very good starter lens, especially considering it costs next to nothing included in the price.

If you go for the 450d from warehouseexpress and then taking into account the £50 rebate it can be got for £390, so not a bad price.
