I believe the V6 was used as the safety car because Renaultsport take it when there is cliocup racing at Thruxton and Brands Hatch.

They also use it for Formula Renault.

but I mean that was why it was there - because of the Renault presence, it isnt that Brands and Thruxton own a new V6 as safety car.
