Tried that today and boot was solid and still a knocking from rear , sounds like the exhaust against the diffuser , any body experience this ?

Another common ish think is exhaust mounts or clamps coming loose, Knocking etc. Just get under it and have a looksie

Ok cheers , gonna hopefully get time to pop it into local exhaust place tomorrow to get them to take a look

Went to local exhaust place and they said anti ball joint mounts had gone so then got it on ramps to get 100% on that and nope nothing wrong with anything , they checked everything and it's all solid , so I've tried the boot and that's solid and don't move and now had wheels ,exhaust, joints and suspension checked and they all fine so not them so any ideas please ?

The same happened to me its the synchromesh hubs and a rebuild was gunna be over thousand but had receipt and took it back to garage and they paid for it with a few harsh letters and trading standards lol

Gonna just bite the bullet and book into local garage to get a refurb one put it
