Have now given up and left it here... a respectable effort I think...

LOL. I was the same, I drove the 21 miles back from Birmingham to find no matter what tried I couldn't get up my own drive!! I tried to clear it with my neighbours help, but all we did was make more ice!

In the end I left the car on the road. It survived the night thankfully.
