i have a 2001 1.2 16v sport clio, it is currently dropped 35mm, but i want to change this to 60mm. In some mags and internet websites it states that i may need new shocks for this, is this true and what will happen if i do not get new shocks?
You will have better ride quality with new shocks, but they are not essential. There are loads of people on here with 60mm drop with just springs (me included, 2002 1.2). Your old shocks will wear out faster if you drop it, but even then you can still get years out of them.
As everyone has saif you dont need the shocks are quite good but they will never be as good as aftermarket uprated ones. Im driving my car with stock rear dampers and 60mm springs at the back and you can tell the difference the uprated shocks make.
Id personally get uprated shocks before going any lower unless you want it just for looks.
