60mm on 17's

Sorry if you've heard all this before but i've been searching on the forum and there seems to be some conflicting ideas on this.

If I get 17's for my 1.4 mk2 ph1 clio and drop it by 60mm on springs, will there be any problems with rubbing etc? I would lower it 40mm instead but not sure if it would look too high still?

Anyone got any advice? Pics would be great...

Im after getting a 60mm drop on my 17's. You will probably get a tiny bit of rubbing, but nothing to be overly concerned about.

Mine is lowered 40mm and looks fine, but not low enough for me.

they were 60mm Spax springs from DemonTweeks, the ride was pretty awful to be fair (you really need new shocks as well), but what do you expect. I can't remember which offset the wheels were sorry, I'm sure someone on here will know what they should be though.

Like Gareth said you shouldn't have any problems. mine were ET38 and they have about 2-3mm clearance so it was close. yours might be very close inside the wheel but providing you're tyres dont have rim protectors you should be able to get away with it. i went 60mm on GMAX springs and tbh the ride was very harsh. I went down to about 70-80mm on coilovers which started rubbing as I needed spacers on the front then:

Yeah they suit better than the first set, look lovely. Cheers for the advice, if the ride is awful on just springs i guess i'll be going 60 on springs and shocks then when i can afford to!
