6x9’s

Right, I am not into spending lots of money as I dont always have the stereo on. But I do like to listen to my music on the way home from work in the early hours, so...........

Whats the best 6x9s I can buy? Or should I just replace with component speakers?

Cheers

Paul

Get the components, 6 x 9s are pooh, a decent set up front will do u and will sound sooooooo much better

just my view thou

replace front speakers with a decent set of components

ignore 6x9s IMHO

but there are some people on here who are adament that 6x9s are a good thing

im sure half you folk who say 6x9s are sh1t have never listened to them.

front components alone will give you hardly any bass.

6x9s are frowned upon in audio circles because they do not go well with subs. However 6x9s and fronts on their own sound quite good and the 6x9s give you a certain level of bass...much more than components alone.

If you just want a budget stereo and have no intention of getting a sub...then spend some money on a nice set of mbquart 6x9s

!

i agree a little, a decent set can sound half decent if ur not after sound quality, but only if they are half decent , not a cheap set from halfords etc with mid/tweeter and super tweeer, id rather listen 2 my engine than a pair of them

So.......6x9 give more bass eh, ClioJohn? I should of said that I would lke a more rounded sound as opposed to lots of bass. I think a good set of component speakers all round sounds like the way to go for me.

Cheers

if you want a more rounded sound, replace the speakers in the factory locations with mid drivers, no added tweeters, and get a decent set of components up front

as i have said above, i dont rate 6x9s, i have had them in previous cars and now realise how bad they after my last couple of systems

i personally see no point in having any treble from the rear, yes, the passengers get a listen, but you dont put a stereo in there for them, it is your car, you are the driver and you have to put up with the stereo all the time, set the stereo up to the way you want to hear it, and dont worry about what the passengers say

cant beat having it all tho....

but if its one or the other get a set of components.... & for people who say u dont get much bass out of them... try amping up a set of 6.5" components, they rock some serious sh*t!

As for swapping factory locations with mid drivers.. do u mean swapping rear speakers?

Cheers Mr BamBam

I usually have my music playing with the sound towards the back. So with what you are saying makes sense to me.
