7 days to go.... insurance time

  Pink & Blue 182, JDM DC2

Hello all,

I can start shopping round for quotes in 7 days time. I am quite looking forward to it to be honest.

My Cup is a 2002 -with a few mods, induction, silicone elbow, strut braces, stereo and exhaust.

I have 3pts for speeding.

I am 21 years old and have 5 years no claims. Its basically 4 years of accident free driving (touches WOOD!), plus I did my pass plus and my insurane company gave me a years free NCB! Woot! Woot! I have the extra year in writing so lets not get hung up and whether I have it or not please.

Any idea how much I should be aiming for.

Am paying £1,850 or something at the moment, which was based on me being 20.

I was ringing insurance companies for about 3hours the other day and the best one by FAR was HIC definately give them a call fella they are ace!

They really did help me out mine was:

1.4RT all my mods declared including roll cage, 20 years old, no NCB, one accident, no points just over 1k

Adrian Flux was £1633.00!!! way off!

i havent got the number with me but definately call them!

Your price i nspires me to get my Cup caged!

They are the only ones that would touch me with a rollcage and the amount i had lowered and of course all of the mods! no one else could get near!

i had 7 companies say they wouldnt insure me lol!!

I cant find it on the net cos i got it from the back of (dare i say it) fast car lol!

was a great help tho have to say that!

Yeah will let you know fella they are open til late! if you want you can pm me your number and i can send you it later or i think the number might be on here somewhere if you do a search?

Vix :)

i am in virtually exactly the same circumstances, same ncb, same speeding, near enough same age, and this year for my 172 I have been quoted around £500 with Norwich Union Direct!

I did confused.com the other day, quotes were crap, highest was 4.5k ffs lowest was what I paid last year with no no claims!

Waiting for my renewal notice to come through to see what my current insurance company can do!

That is a ridiculous quote, I pay 1500 f/c @ 19 for a 106gti with some modifications... surely you should be aiming for under a grand???

Not sure about tesco Si172, thats who im with mate but I have no mods. Havent seen you around Maidstone recently mate after the last time we caught up. Rus

you talking to me 106? i have quite a few mods on my car so its dearer and also i have no no claims have only had a license for 18months lol!

that is bloody cheap!

not sure how you got that quote but when you say you have mods what do you have done?

tescos were crap for me they wanted a grand for a standard 1.4RT!!

  don't

HIC cheapest for me , 19 yr old 1.8 rsi 2 crashes, 1 at fault for

£900 tptf, all mods declared alloys,lowered,ICE,de-cat all for no extra cost

I thought since it was illegal to de-cat your car it would be better to keep your mouth shut about such a mod?

  don't

not illegal 2 do it m8, dont think so anyway, think others have declared it

some ppl even pass mots with a de-cat, its only illegal if the law can prove that ur emmisions r over the legal limit

so mot time just chuck cat back on and sorted for 12 months, its only a pipe but least its declared anyway, well i have technically been covered for unspecified engine mods, so i could have nos or anythin lol, but its on the policy so wahey
