Hey,
In my 98 Clio the driver side tweeter 'buzzes' (for want of a better word.)
The noise it makes is a high pitched constant buzz that does not vary when I change the volume on the stereo and only happens when the car is in D, 2 or 1 (its an automatic.) The buzz only varies when changing gear, when it fluctuates in pitch - it sounds a lot like some sort of interference? In R it is a higher pitch.
I do have a aftermarket Sony stereo, but the buzz happened even with the stock tape player/radio. I mentioned it to the garage I brought it from and they replaced the tweeter, which did nothing (though the mechanic was going deaf, go figure..)
How are the tweeters cabled? I'm planning to take the dashboard off to take a look and see if there is anything obvious that could be interfering with the speaker cabling... It does have this stupid alarm system fitted which keeps going off randomly which I also want to disable - could that be related? Nothing else about the car is modified as far as I'm aware, it's only had one previous owner who was in her 80s so I'm pretty sure she didn't do any crazy modifications!
Any ideas?
Also hello I'm Mat and I'm new here.
