Just listen to those turbos!!

Porsche GT9, made by 9ff
4 litre flat six twin turbo
987bhp/711 lb ft @ 5970rpm
Six-speed manual
5.2mpg to 25.9mpg / n/a

0-60mph: 4.2sec. 0-186mph: 17.6sec

Its in this months evo magazine and they ran out of track at i think it was 230 something mph but they said it was still pulling and have no doubt it will top the veyrons top speed.

  Shed.
its a sad excuse for a car. Look s**t, and it has no luxuries. If the veyron came in a stripped out version like this piece of s**t does itd run rings around it.

  V6, Trackhawk, GTS
It's pisch! Seen a test about it on tv, Slow to 60 then uncontrolable boost to top speed! Plus again it's non comparible as the Veyron is a production can and thats a bastardised hybrid!!

  Evo 8 Jap Crap
Its classed as a production car because it isnt a one off prototype

The veyron should have s**t loads of luxuries it costs over 2x as much!!

Its in Evo this month and they were well impressed

  FN2 Type R +MK6 Golf
Cant be driven half the time when its damp.Too noisy and has no comforts whatsoever.

Veyron has it all

  172//Crap Micra//Bus
Think it just looks nasty... it may be quicker than a Veyron, but only in a straight line... show this thing a corner, and thats it... back to the Porsche garage to buy a 911 Turbo?!

The new reyland escort is supposed to be quicker to a ton than a veyron but i know which one id rather be in

The designer just wanted to beat the Veyron to 200, which he did and beat the top speed, which he did. It's not meant to be a luxury car.

Veyron is still the better car, maybe the best. Saying that, the 9ff dude hasn't finished with this car yet.

  850 T5. mmmm Turbo!

yeh the escort, martin reyland is a hero, a british hero. he hasnt spend £7million on each car. in the 90's if you had told me a man in a shed could make a car like this out of a ford esort i would have pissed my pants.

he should be knighted!

  Current ride - my Adidas!
the great thing about the veyron is that it is taking supercars forward and forcing this sort of thing out of the woodwork to compete with it. i dont know what this guy's budget was on the porsche but fair play to him anyway, id never criticise anything like that even if it isn't as civilised and polished as the bugatti.

Exactly. The Veyron is a car that will quite possibly will never be equaled, and is an exhibition of what can be done (with enough money). I can't see manufacturers with this type of budget ever being allowed to make cars on this level with the ever increasing safety and emissions laws.

The 9ff's only real comparison to the Veyron is the acceleration. It's an amazing car, although not quite the polished hypercar a Veyron is. There are plenty of other examples in this category. Ultima etc...

I think the 9FF is awesome. While the Veyron is the more polished and luxery car and is quick I think as an event the porsche would be the more exciting due to the noise, and the rawness of it. It's officially a production car too as they are making 20 of them - and on the video they compared the handling of it to similar to a carrera gt - which isn't a sloppy handler - although tricky on the limit.

There is a stunning pic of this car in this months Evo of it driving away on a high-speed run, love it.

I agree though, awesome achievement but doesn't really even put a dent in the Veyron, that does all that and more whilst still being luxurious and -apparently- incredibly easy to drive.

They had different remits really so not comparable in the same way - Volkswagon wanted the Veyron to be as easy to drive as any other volkswagon, and just as reliable. It took them yrs and yrs and a small fortune to develop - and they changed the guy in charge of developing it mid-way through as they were struggling. End result of all that reliability is a 2 ton car that is very quick, but over-engineered.

9ff have taken less time, and no doubt a huge amount less money to come up with basically a track car that beats the Veyron's top speed and upper speed figures. It only weighs approx 1400 kgs, and no doubt feels the more lively for it, and doesn't need 9 radiators, 16 cylinders and 4 turbos which is a bit excessive on the Veyron!

Cheers mate - If you're driving a Teg- R you know about the lightweight handling - I was so close to buying on of those instead of the 182 with Cup stuff. Came down to buying a much newer lower mileage car for the money, albeit slight slower then the R unfortunately!
