Rather than spam up the boards I thought I'd post a few shots from my last two events in one thread. Although they were only a week apart the difference in the weather was ridiculous. For the Mid Wales Stages it was like being in the Arctic with snow and hail showers, and then it was like the middle of Summer for the Tour of Epynt with glorious sunshine and temperatures close to 20c. I even ended up in a t-shirt at one stage :S

Only negative thing I would say is I think you're over sharpening some of the photos. There's some really ugly aliasing happening on a lot of the photos.

The front of the car in #4 for example.

That mint green Escort is lovely, I want!!


I'm impressed with #12 - the background is a lot more in-focus than I would have thought possible! I would have thought you were using quite a big aperture to reduce exposure times, but with the background being as it is, were you shooting smaller aperture but higher ISO?

Cheers for the feedback Dan, will keep that in mind for future. I have to say though that looking at the original on my laptop, it doesn't look anywhere near as bad.

Cheers! The main concern when shooting at that location in #12 is shutter speed. The top cars are close to 100mph there and with no opportunity to track the cars in, it's crank the shutter and pray a little! The late afternoon light there was absolutely perfect so ISO was 200 to give an aperture of f5.6...
