hello all not been on for ages due to moving house and having no tinterweb.anyway set up sky bb today all is fine but my laptop just say aquiring network licence or something like that anyone know why. thanks

check that uv got ur ip set as auto asign in netowrk settings. shud sort it.

Is it connecting via a piece of cable or wirelessly?

Sounds like its not getting an IP from the router. Restart the router then the laptop and see if that fixes it. If not manually assign your laptop an IP.

view network connections> Right Click on "Wireless Connection"> Properties> TCP/IP> Then enter Ip Address, address will be 192.168.*.*

Might also be the channel that the signal is on...had that being the problem a few times.

You need to set up your dns servers too, on the computer your posting on (I asusme its using the same net connection!) do this -

Start > Run > Type in "CMD" (without the quotes)

a box should pop up now type in "/ipconfig /all" (again without the quotes)

Find where it says DNS servers and put them into your laptop where you put in your manual IP address and that, it should work
