A Lucky Escape

Driving back from my mates birthday celebrations on sunday in manchester, going about 70 on the M6, my near side front tyre decided to blow up. I tried as best as i could to slow down whilst not losing control of the car and stacking it into other cars and the barrier. I pulled onto the hard shoulder and called the AA. I tried to get the spare wheel out of its cage but it was totally seized up.

So we were waiting up the embankment in the freezing cold and rain, my missus was pretty poorly from drinking too much and was not happy.

AA man arrived, jacked the car up and took the wheel off. The state of the tyre was a fukin joke, and bearing in mind the car was only MOTd on tuesday, youd have think they would have spotted it. inside tread was totally bald, and it looked like something had been rubbing on the inside wall as it was ripped all the way round - something which hadnt just happened then.

Should I kick off with my work as the carried out the MOT and I could have possible badly crashed my car.

  don't

u could have been killed tbh mate, u were very very lucky

kick arse about it because they blatently didnt check it

or they may have checked it and passed it and been generous, but obviously not gd

dont you ever check the tyres yourself?

You still have a level of responsability with a works car, oil water tyres ect.

blowouts are nasty, could have got well ugly.

It was my own car. tbh I hadnt checked the tyres in ages. But when u pay someone to check to make sure ur car is road worthy you dont expect to pass the MOT with severe safety issues as there clearly was!
