A second IK

  Suzuki SV1000S

I am looking at getting a second IK for my mk1 172.

At the mo. I have an enclosed Carbon Quickshift Taipan2 Kit, - which is wicked for performance but is silent except for a slight whistle.

So I am basically looking at getting a second one for the car that just makes the great roar sound like the K&Ns.

So far I have been offered a K&N or a RamAir which do you think would be better and which gives a better noise oh also I have seen a Hill Power IK for sale, the proper one with the half enclosure.

Would do you think - and how much do you think a used hill power should be if is £200 new

George, When I said id help you move your cold air pipe i will do that. joining 2 incudtcion kits togeher.. well... theres some problems like maybe too much restriction and also... gonna be bloody ahrd to do.

Well if it is only £45 it means the IK is worth even more, but its not go phone Hillpower and youll find out its £70.

Si lol, One at a time mate. Dannyboy - Depends where you live hehe

What do we reckon to hill power IK then are they worth the price or not?

If the Quickshift is excellent for power - why not leave it in place, and just drill a large hole in the standard box (in a place away from engine heat) to get the roar you want, direct a cold air feed to it and Bob will be very chuffed that hes your mothers brother and therefore related to such a sensible and innovative chap as yourself. :D

Mate the quickshift has a Carbon enclosed box around it, So dont think I will be drilling ANY holes in it. The cold air feed goes straight onto it just like the vipers do. This is perfect for me because I live in Westminster (london) and sit in traffic all the time. However if I am going away for the weekend would like to have the option of bosching on a K&N or equivalent to get the lovely roar and not worry too much about heat problem - Specially as it is Fing hot at the mo.
