A what laptop thread...

Mum wants a new laptop for Christmas and i've lost track of whats good and whats not now, so...

The budget is £400 max, she needs it for everyday things like - surfing the web, using excel, word etc etc.

What would you go for?

There is loads of decent enough spec'd laptops about for nearer £300 on windows 7 that will deal with everything, ebay deals?

My laptop is a Acer 8920G cost £215 (won it on ebay at 3am )
