what are peoples views on the yoko a048r and toyo r888? are these safe on uk roads considering the weather we get

  E91 M Sport
I had A048's on my lightweight Westfield - acceptable in mild/dry weather on normal roads. Absolutely useless at the slightest glimpse of moisture.

Might have different characteristics on a heavier car though.

so they are a no no in the wet , even if you are just doing normal driving?

lotus and vauxhall vx220 come with them as standard , i know they are not everyday drivers, but is not risky on the manufacturers part for supplying them

  RS Clio 200
in theory they should be ok in wet too.
Bikes have been using the same tyre design for years in dry and wet.
