Adding RAM to a Laptop

Car  Ex-172 owner. Now a Mini!
Is it as simple adding RAM to a laptop as it is to a desktop? I have a Sony Vaio Laptop N38E/W and want to make it 2gb RAM instead of 1gb. I understand I'll need two new 1gb sticks. Is it as simple as taking it to bits and fitting the sticks?

yeah pretty much, the sticks will be under one of the flaps on the bottom of the laptop.

Cool, so I don't have to take the whole thing apart then, just remove one of the flaps?

It reminds me of when I added RAM to my Commodore Amiga!

It's piss easy, I did it with my Vaio when I got it. Like DrRollo said, there's a flap underneath the laptop where it goes.
